Medicare Advantage
plans
Medicare Advantage plans are Medicare plans sold by private insurance companies. They cover all Original Medicare services, and most offer prescription drug, dental, vision, hearing, and other optional coverage.
Medicare Supplement
plans
Medicare Supplement (also known as Medigap) plans are Medicare plans sold by private insurance companies. They cover some or all of the out-of-pocket costs not covered by Original Medicare.
Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans do not cover Medicare Part D, which is prescription drug coverage.
Stand Alone Part D
plans
Medicare Part D plans help pay for prescription medications that are not covered by Medicare parts A or B.
Marketplace
plans
Marketplace insurance is a type of insurance offered by private companies through the Affordable Care Act, as a service to individuals and families, who are under 65 years of age.
